So you may or may not have noticed that I changed my 'baking' tab to a 'food' tab at the top of my little blog (it's ok, I know I'm the only one who obsesses over the details here on Patchwork.)
Any-hoo, there were a few reasons I did this, sorta because I am going to have a new baby in May and will have little time to bake, also because I would like to curb the expansion of my pregnant ass and mostly just because although I still love to bake, I also love to make cocktails, salads, nibblies and basically feed my family and friends.
So here is the first ever non-baking recipe on Patchwork Cactus ... du-du-du-duuuuh!
Nutella Iced Coffee
This little doozie came to me as I was sweltering in 42 °C heat. It tastes much naughtier than it is and can be made into a cocktail if you feel the need for something alcoholic and creamy that isn't actually creamy.
Ingredients
- One tablespoon of Nutella
- One cup of milk (I use skim)
- One shot of coffee, either from an espresso/pod machine or some instant coffee mixed with 50ml of boiling water
- About 5 ice cubes
Directions
- In a shaker or cup, mix the hot coffee with the Nutella until is is all dissolved.
- Next add the milk.
- Then chuck in the ice.
- Either shake it up or pour it all into a blender and blend (this is the preferred method)
- (Optional) Garnish with cinnamon, nutmeg or chocolate powder.
- (Optional #2) To make it a cocktail, add some Frangelico, Amaretto or Baileys before blending.
- Drink with a stripey paper straw because this will make it taste better.
