Old wives pregnancy tales put to the test

Today is the day I find out what sex the baby is and I'm celebrating by testing out some old wives tales about gender prediction. 

I don't mind either way, it would be nice to have a boy but if Scout got a sister it would be awesome too. 

As I like to be seriously scientific on this blog I used the 'are you feeling lucky' button on Google when I was doing my extensive research. So here we go. 

1. The ring test: Tie a ring to a strand of your hair and hold it above your belly. If it swings back and forth you are having a girl and if it goes in a circle it's a boy.
   Outcome = Successful 
2. I then looked up one of the millions of versions of this Chinese Pregnancy Calendar.
   Outcome = Successful
3. Rumour has it if you are craving sweet things it's a girl and salty means it's a boy.
   Outcome = Successful
4. Mum's intuition is always a strong predictor...
   Outcome = Successful
5. If the dad puts on weight it's a boy and if not it's a girl.
   Outcome = Successful
6. Is your belly carrying low? It's a boy, high; it's a girl.
   Outcome = Successful

And the last test was the most exciting. 

Ultrasound = Boy

woooo! hooray for boys! have you heard of the red cabbage test? you boil up cabbage and pee on it. A friend of mine swears by it. x

How cool, a little man to join your family! I tried out many old wives tales but they were split 50/50 on the sex! Mothers intuition was correct though! Yay!!!
