Pregnancy is hilarious and I think a pregnancy photo shoot should try not take itself too seriously.
With my first pregnancy I was surprised to find was not the beautiful experience I thought it would be. It was sweaty and puffy and really bloody awkward.
I was also surprised to find that I wasn’t very comfortable with my pregnant body, everything was just so much bigger than it had ever been before and I was not in the mood to celebrate it.
If it wasn’t for a dear friend gifting me a photoshoot for my baby shower I’m not sure I would have had any pics taken at all. I’m so thankful I did, even though seeing them for the first time on her computer was a huge blow to my vanity, it helped me realise pregnancy is hilarious, not dreamy. And I love these pics for capturing the ridiculousness of it all.

I got a few taken with my last pregnancy, some I really like, and some if they ever get out there would be fodder for awkward maternity photos.

I really regret that we didn't do something like this. I thought i had heaps of time left to get it done, i assumed being a first pregnancy i'd go 2 weeks late but due to complications i ended up having her 15 days early & only getting half a days notice! I got my hubby to take some photos the night before i went into hospital & they're awful! I look so puffy, bloated, exhausted & generally 'over it'
I realised a week after Mia was born that my hubby & i didn't have a single photo of us together with my bump which makes me so sad.

Thanks Steph, Emma I know how you feel, there are quite a few of them in my collection too. And Mon, that is really sad. There is a reason my head isn't in any of them... talk about puffy! Oh well, you will have something new for your next pregnancy. xoxo thanks for the comments girls.
