"A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013."
A portrait of my children, plural...
I can't get the goofy smile off my face, I'm smitten. He is perfection, it feels like he was always here - and every other cliché.
It has been a pretty big week around here. Hawkin - or Fox Le Bam as Scout has christened him - arrived suddenly, more than made up for being 10 days overdue. My water broke at 10:30 on Wednesday evening and I was holding a tiny squooshy little man by 4am.
Just to complicate things we also bought a house. It sounds crazy but after 6 months of looking with no success we were not letting it slip away because we were busy making people.
It has been an amazing week, but for every part of me that is dancing, there is a tiny little bit that is aching. Scout is not impressed with the new recruit. But instead of lashing out with nastiness, she is slinking away from me. I know it's normal but my god it hurts. I have taken to cuddling her in her sleep - she won't let me when she is awake.
She will come around, I have given her the best gift she could ever get. Brothers are awesome - mine mopped the floor when he was here to visit the baby (thanks to some gentle persuasion from his lovely wife)
Thank you blogosphere for all the love you have sent us. I will keep the pictures coming - when my brain grows back.
Linking up with Jodi and loving all the winter-sun-soaked pictures of little lovelies this week.
