I am starting a bit mini series (of sorts) on the magical and medicinal properties of herbs and spices here on Patchwork. I think it's cool that your spice rack and herb garden are full of little tasty treats that can have big heath benefits, I think it's cooler that herbs and spices have been around so long that there are all sorts of superstitions about them. I hope you guys think they are as interesting as I do, if not...well I'm still going to post about it because, hell, it's my blog! xoxo babs
Peppermint is filled to the brim with vitamin C, A, B2, fiber, calcium and folate. It can also help remove toxins from the blood by upping circulation. Mint is also works wonders for many respiratory issues so if you are feeling stuffed up, sniff some peppermint. Great for asthma, bronchitis and sinus. Mojito’s anyone?
Pagans believe mint has healing and calming properties and can help bring peace after an argument. So if you have a tiff, hang some fresh mint in a mesh bag on the bath tap and tub it up. The infused water will smell good and chase away your hurt. Mint is also believed to attract money so put a few leaves in your wallet.
Peppermint oil is a healthy alternative to flea shampoo, just add a few drops to a mild shampoo or mix with some water and simply spray on your furry friend. (or yourself, I don't judge)
