This last week somehow managed to take up every piece of me - I got creative, spent time with the kids and my dad, Pac Man was away for the weekend, I took myself out for coffee alone, drank wine, contemplated cutting off all my hair and I missed out on going to something I really wanted to go to because I didn't prioritise my own needs. Then by the time I did it was too late.
I tend to be trusting, where there's a will there's a way, but this time I uncharacteristically decided it couldn't be done. And it felt crap. It felt crapper when I realised it could be done but by then the tickets were sold out. So let this be a lesson to pessimists, I tried it, once, and it sucked. Now it's back business as usual, frustratingly optimistic.
1) As a conciliation prize there were markets and face painting, the bonus of having a grandpa around for the weekend is that he agreed to wait in the insanely long line at the stall so Scout could be the Lion King. She kept saying, I is a lion, and I kept thinking, yeah you are!
2) I decided our back yard was missing a boat and fixed that quick smart. The only problem was its safe to stabby ratio. Gogga to the rescue again, he cut off all the sharp and rusty bits, added a steering wheel and a mast and basically turned it into an imaginative play haven for the kids. I will be sharing the pictures soon, it's really great and I feel so lucky that my kids get to get him too. He was the dad that made all the cool stuff, flying foxes, billy carts, tiny pool cues and I'm pretty sure his improvisation skills influenced my creative ways than most things.
3) I have been playing with my camera heaps and dreaming of painting my whole house white so it is bright and beautiful from every angle, is that crazy? In other news his little man is almost one and although I actually can't fathom it, I also can't wait for him to start toddling around - he is so close.
4) My pineapple pillow using this DIY Pineapple Stamp turned out really well, too bad I can't say the same for the pictures of it. If anyone knows how the hell to photograph neon colours please let me know. Hopefully the next round will come out ok and the tute will be up here soon.
