It's been a while since I have done a Taking Stock post so I thought I would pop one together. I love looking back on them and because I do lots of tutorials and recipes on this blog sometimes I wonder if I will be sad that I didn't spend all this time just memory keeping.
It's hard to find a balance between writing for yourself and being helpful to others. Truth be told I actually love reading these type of personal posts on other people's blog, I mean, there is such a voyeuristic element to reading blogs, I love seeing into other peoples houses and minds. So maybe it's doesn't have to be two separate things.
But instead of talking about what I love to read, I wanted to ask you what you like to read here? I blog about so many different things and it's hard to know exactly why you guys come to visit. Please feel free to let me know in the comment. Anyway, below is the content of my head, and here are some other Taking Stock posts.
Making: Pasta, I was so tired of doing stuff that on Friday night that when I realised I didn't have any fresh pasta in the freezer for the awesome meal I was planning to make I chose learning to make pasta from scratch over putting the kids BACK in the car to go to the shops. That are less than two kms away. It was awesome, I'm hooked.
Cooking: Poached eggs, soup and any type of comfort food I can get my mitts on.
Drinking: Fresh juice. The killer flu I had made me go off coffee a bit and crave the juice. I never thought I would say these words but I don't love coffee right now. But I still love wine.
Reading: This pile of books.
Looking: Damn fine if I do say so myself.
Playing: House with the man of my dreams.
Deciding: If I should make an e-magazine or not. I'm thinking the answer should be yes, you?
Wishing: Hubby had a job he loves as much as I love mine.
Enjoying: All the unashamed hype over the Gilmore Girls mini series. I was a closet watcher and now I realise that everyone loves those ladies!
Waiting: For the kids to wake up, it's a rare day when the bigger one sleeps, it's even rarer when they both sleep at the same time, I'm going to pay for it tonight but it will be worth it. The fire is lit, the house is tidy and I'm blogging with a drink by my side.
Liking: This blogger and her Instagram account. She used to blog for/with Treasures and Travels but went on her own path a while ago and I am loving it.
Wondering: When I'm going to get to watch this Rocky Horror remake. Freakin cant even.
Loving: This amazing range of dress ups.
Pondering: What school to send the lady to.
Considering: Home schooling. Not really but if someone could open a Montessori primary in my area that would be great.
Buying: This tray and this book-end today. Whoops.
Watching: The Mindy Project and Girls as usual. But I also watched a doco called Twinsters a while back and I can't get it out of my mind. It was incredible.
Marvelling: At how much the little man is capeable of. Maybe it's a second child thing, maybe it's a boy thing but I expect so much less of him than I expected of her at the same age. Although, I don't have a 10 month old baby right now and that may be affecting the situation.
Needing: Nada. OK, maybe a cleaner.
Questioning: Everything, always.
Smelling: A Rafiki candle. (Nothing to do with monkeys.)
Wearing: These pants, an Adidas tee and a topknot.
Following: Minouche and waiting for their winter range to drop.
Noticing: House colour schemes, sheds and fences. Fuck being an adult is boring.
Knowing: That we are seriously blessed and that this time will pass.
Thinking: About heading to this event.
Admiring: Mothers who stay awesome in the face of adversity.
Sorting: Lots of stuff, doing op shop drops, wiping out cupboards...shit, maybe it's time for a pregnancy test.
Getting: Back into running. Sigh, I hate exercise.
Bookmarking: Articles from Kid Magazine, so much to read, so little time.
Coveting: This range of cushions.
Disliking: House work, mornings, people who don't give due credit and spiders.
Opening: My heart a little bit more in my writing.
Giggling: At my kids being puppies on snapchat. Never. Gets. Old.
Feeling: Like I could totally have a snooze but then I would miss out on this quiet time.
Snacking: All the time, this lady has NO self control.
Helping: Where I can.
Hearing: Sweet, sweet silence.
