This is just a quick note to ask you if you have heard of Rafiki Mwema?
In the bloggy world you're not really supposed to put a link in the fist sentence because you want your readers to stay on your page for more than three seconds. I want you to click over to them though.
Rafilk Mwema is basically a safe house for girls in Kenya who are the victims of horrendous sexual crimes. Young girls. Some as young as two years old. Toddlers who have been prostituted by their own parents in some cases.
Hard to hear right, really hard to process too.
My friend Sarah Rosberg- an Australian graphic designer, mother and dead set legend - fundraises around the clock to keep this safe house going, as you can imagine there are huge costs involved. Last year, with the help of an extremely philanthropic couple, she managed to orchestrate the purchase of a farm. A real life forever house for the charity.
And now she is planning a trip to Kenya in March. She is also planning a party for the girls, ice cream, balloons, fun times... childhood.
And this is where you come in. If you would like to donate some cash to Rafiki Mwema you can just click here are go for it. You can also choose where exactly you want that money to go; Sarah's Party, a playground, fencing or just 'wherever it's needed most'. I will be donating to the party because the thought of these girls having the best day of their lives warms my heart.
So many of my friends have written about both Rafiki Mwema and Sarah so I have added some lovely links below.
I will be donating half of all my advertising revenue until Sarah leaves for Kenya next month to the party, because kids need ice cream and Sarah needs to be able to give it to them. So head here or the image below if you're a small business owner who would like to buy a spot.
